GIS Developer - Remote

Overview

As a GIS Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing GIS-based applications and tools that empower decision-making and drive operational efficiency.

In Short

• Design, build, and support GIS-based applications and tools using platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or other geospatial technologies.
• Analyze and interpret geographic data to provide actionable insights, including geospatial modeling, mapping, and visualization.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate GIS solutions with enterprise platforms, databases, and APIs.
• Create, maintain, and optimize geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and availability for analysis and reporting.
• Develop scripts or workflows using programming languages like Python, R, or JavaScript to automate routine GIS tasks and enhance system efficiency.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver GIS solutions tailored to meet business needs.
• Implement best practices for securing GIS data and applications, ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of ESRI products.
• Understanding of GIS databases and database architectures.
• Understanding of GIS web and web map services.
• GISP or ESRI Technical Certifications.
• Experience with multiple GIS solutions preferred.
• Experience with GIS solution design and maintenance required.
• Experience with writing code to interface with ArcGIS solutions required.
• Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software.
• Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
• Acts as team leader on projects.
