Overview

The HIM Coder at Virtua Health is responsible for coding and abstracting hospital medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state guidelines.

• Utilizes ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding systems.

• Requires AHIMA Certification (CCS) for new hires after 10/1/2025.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/Medical terminology required.
• Previous experience with electronic health record systems preferred.
• Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• AHIMA Certification (CCS) required for new hires after 10/1/2025.
