The Senior Accessibility Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining user-friendly, accessible web interfaces that comply with federal accessibility standards, enhancing user experiences, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver inclusive and high-performing digital solutions. You will work closely with government counterparts, digital experience teams, and a cross-functional team to deliver secure, high-quality solutions and will be adept at leveraging a structured approach to decision-making that aligns with measurable outcomes.

• Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web interfaces that comply with federal accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with designers, back-end developers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing techniques.
• Implement best practices for semantic HTML, CSS, React, and JavaScript.
• Provide expertise in accessibility to ensure digital products meet compliance requirements.
• Stay updated on federal accessibility standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for front-end code.
• Conduct training and provide technical support on accessibility practices.
• Collaborate with QA teams for rigorous testing of web applications.
• Advocate for user-centric and inclusive design principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accessibility and user-centered design.
• Experience building and annotating prototypes in Figma and Sketch.
• Demonstrated expertise in compliance with accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools.
• Experience with design systems and reusable UI components.
• Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• Knowledge of version control systems and collaborative workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
