The Inpatient Medical Coder III is responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient facility and professional services, ensuring correct reimbursement and workload credit.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in medical coding/auditing.
• RHIT or RHIA Certification.
• Knowledge of ICD-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Understanding of reimbursement systems like PPS and DRGs.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Practical knowledge of medical specialties.
• Associates Degree preferred.
