Director of Commercial Credit - Remote

Overview

The Director of Commercial Credit has responsibility for maintaining a rigorous commercial credit culture within the Credit Union. This role will manage credit risk in the commercial credit portfolio, develop credit policy and procedures, and oversee loan recommendations and approvals to ensure that credit exposure conforms to the desired risk profile as established by executive management.

In Short

• Directs and monitors commercial lending to ensure established goals and objectives are met.
• Independently underwrites complex commercial credits and conducts annual reviews.
• Examines, evaluates, approves, or recommends approval of member applications for commercial loans.
• Prepares commercial lending reporting and acts as primary contact for portfolio reviewers and regulators.
• Develops and implements lending program policy and strategy.
• Collaborates with colleagues to support a cohesive team environment.

Requirements

• A college degree is required.
• 10+ years of experience in Commercial Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management, or Credit Risk Management.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth understanding of regulations affecting lending programs.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial C&I and real estate lending practices.
