Buyer, Hybrid - Remote

Overview

The Buyer position involves procurement and contracting support activities at a renowned medical center, requiring effective communication with internal customers and vendors.

In Short

• Provide exemplary customer service support for purchasing and supply chain needs.
• Review purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.
• Communicate with vendors to verify pricing and availability.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable and vendors.
• Update vendor and item tables as necessary.
• Process expedited and emergency orders as needed.
• Provide training on ERP and related systems.
• Assist departments with product returns and alternative product identification.
• Manage the creation of draft purchase orders.
• Work with procurement organizations to ensure best pricing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• One year of experience in a purchasing function required.
• Knowledge of bid/pricing solicitation practices preferred.
• Experience reviewing contracts preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and computerized purchasing systems preferred.
