Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for producing general nuclear medicine and PET/CT images for medical interpretation and administering therapeutic radioactive isotopes.

In Short

  • Responsible for producing nuclear medicine and PET/CT images.
  • Administers therapeutic radioactive isotopes.
  • Relays instructions to patients and follows procedure protocols.
  • Injects radioactive isotopes and acquires images.
  • Processes and reviews images for accuracy.
  • Ensures image quality by performing equipment QA.
  • Interacts with patients and family members throughout procedures.
  • Enters patient information into a database.
  • Participates in continuing education programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Certified as Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT and/or NMTCB).
  • Must obtain Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License prior to start date.
  • CT Advanced Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Preferred: 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Experience.
