Overview

The Medical Assistant at the Family Medicine Center works under the supervision of a physician, assisting with patient care, conducting vital sign measurements, and performing administrative tasks.

In Short

  • Assist in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Conduct patient interviews and measure vital signs.
  • Record information on patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Draw and collect blood samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments.
  • Manage patient appointment schedules.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Coordinate appointments and referrals as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Ability to perform point of care testing.
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • BLS (CPR) Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical systems.
