Senior Underwriter - Remote

Overview

Trustly is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their Risk team, focusing on evaluating merchant applications and assessing credit and reputational risks in the payments industry.

In Short

• Evaluate merchant applications and supporting documentation.
• Review financial statements and business tax returns.
• Analyze corporate structures and licensing requirements.
• Summarize analysis in credit memos.
• Conduct periodic reviews for existing merchants.
• Assist the Commercial team with customer calls.
• Maintain productivity standard goals.
• Work within applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years underwriting experience in payment or commercial lending.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
• Familiarity with KYC and AML requirements.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Independent decision-making capabilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems with data.
• Prior payment and Fintech experience is a plus.
