Back-end Engineer / DevOps - Remote

We are seeking a Back-end Engineer / DevOps to join the Shared Services Engineering team. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of foundational services critical to the platform’s architecture. You will modernize legacy systems, design new services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable seamless delivery of value. In Short

• Modernize backend application code and transition away from legacy systems.
• Design and implement new services to replace legacy infrastructure and systems.
• Ensure a high-quality codebase through design reviews, code reviews, and automated test coverage.
• Collaborate with Platform and SRE teams to align monitoring, alerting, and logging practices.
• Maintain and improve back-end infrastructure and shared code alongside other developers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience as a back-end software engineer or DevOps engineer.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python and some PHP.
• Experience working with AWS, RDS, EC2, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Comfort working with databases, crafting data models, and managing schema migrations.
• Strong, proactive written and verbal communication skills.
