Our Damages/Cost Estimation group provides expert litigation support services to attorneys on construction matters including but not limited to construction defect claims, fire loss claims, and contract disputes. Our team is comprised of qualified cost experts who perform construction estimates utilizing industry standard estimating techniques.

In Short

• Develop cost estimates for repair scopes of work based on engineering reports.
• Review and price repair recommendations provided by Engineers or Architects.
• Interpret building code as it applies to repair scope and pricing.
• Use On-Screen Takeoff and Xactimate / RS Means for estimating.
• Analyze construction plans and documents to allocate cost estimates.
• Assist in writing portions of the expert report.
• Perform periodic site inspections and document conditions.
• Represent VERTEX to clients professionally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and perform cost estimating.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and unit of measure conversions.
• Strong attention to detail and task prioritization.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel to client sites.
