Overview

The Opportunity Alliance is hiring Full-Time Crisis Support Specialist(s) to join the team with our Maine Crisis Line (MCL) program. This role offers invaluable experience to candidates with a background in social work, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others.

In Short

  • Join the Maine Crisis Line team as a Crisis Support Specialist.
  • Work remotely with the option to attend in-person orientation.
  • Provide support to individuals and families experiencing mental health crises.
  • Complete risk assessments and develop crisis stabilization plans.
  • Collaborate with community partners for comprehensive support.
  • Receive training to become certified as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician Crisis Service Provider.
  • Full-time position, 40 hours/week with various shifts available.
  • Must have a dedicated workspace and reliable internet access.
  • Solid communication skills required for crisis calls.
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to learn new skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • One year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health or human services is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Competence in managing complex tasks during crisis calls.
  • Must pass background checks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with DSM-V and crisis documentation skills.
  • Must have a quiet workspace for remote work.
  • Ability to use technology for communication and documentation.
