Overview

The National Legal Consultant will work on a project focused on understanding and addressing foreign criminal influence in South East Asia, particularly in Malaysia, through legal assessments and capacity building efforts.

In Short

3-month contract starting as soon as possible.
Engagement in a project analyzing foreign criminal influence in South East Asia.
Collaboration with local and international legal experts.
Assessment of national legal systems and their effectiveness.
Participation in stakeholder engagement events.
Contributing to the development of a 'Countering Foreign Influence Toolkit'.
Delivering training sessions to legislative and judicial bodies.
Providing local context and insights for legal challenges.
Working under the supervision of the project manager.
Expected to provide legal and technical advice throughout the project.

Requirements

Legal expertise in national and international law.
Experience with transnational crime issues.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.
Fluent in local language and English.
Experience in capacity building and training delivery.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of legal frameworks in South East Asia.
