Overview

The Consultant, Actuarial and Analytics is an entry-level analytic role that involves personal ownership of operational assignments and support for strategic assignments, including reserving, reinsurance, planning/forecasting, project management, CAT modelling, ERM, and research.

In Short

  • Participate in strategic projects and execute assigned project sub-components.
  • Support unit initiatives and refresh basic actuarial analyses.
  • Communicate progress and findings to the manager and team.
  • May mentor less experienced analytic talent.
  • Identify and create process efficiencies within assignments.
  • Utilize basic programming skills such as SQL and SAS.
  • Engage in communication of technical topics during meetings.
  • Provide formal written communication with supervision.
  • Support training and skill development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
  • 1 or more Actuarial exams preferred.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly in MS Office.
  • Basic programming skills (SQL, SAS).
  • Related internship or prior work experience.
  • Initial development of leadership skills.
  • Understanding of basic business drivers and disciplines.
  • Able to develop working relationships with team members.
  • Quantitative analysis skills for data compilation and analysis.
  • Able to perform basic-level analytics with guidance.
