The Athletic is hiring a managing editor for our newly launched Daily Desk, who will focus on leading news coverage across much of our report. The role requires deft editing skills and collaboration with reporters and editors to ensure timely journalism.

In Short

• Lead the Daily Desk's news coverage.
• Manage staff schedules and editorial functions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of news editing experience.
• 4+ years of managerial experience in journalism.
• Strong copy editing skills.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• Interest in various sports and story generation.
• Ability to mentor other editors and reporters.
• Familiarity with content management systems.
• Must be able to work in the USA or Canada.
