Overview

An application security engineer ensures that every step of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) follows security best practices and adheres to secure coding principles.

• Support and consult with product and development teams in application security.
• Perform security-focused code reviews.
• Design and implement software application security controls.
• Develop and maintain documentation of application security controls.
• Assist in developing security processes and automated tooling.
• Perform application scanning and testing.
• Assist in reproducing and triaging application security vulnerabilities.
• Communicate security concerns to the development team.
• Support designing technical solutions for security weaknesses.
• Maintain software application security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Able to work well with software development teams and Product Managers.
• Experience identifying security issues through code review.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with common security libraries and tools.
• Ability to explain common security flaws.
• Basic development or scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, Go).
• Understanding of network and web-related protocols.
