Overview

As a Data Engineer you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and pipelines. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and revenue to ensure that our data is accurate, accessible, and reliable for making informed business decisions.

In Short

  • Build scalable data pipelines using Python, Spark and Airflow.
  • Define and implement the long term technology strategy.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for the data engineering team.
  • Maintain the integrity of our data warehouse and data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with upstream engineering groups.
  • Formulate user-friendly data models.
  • Contribute to shared data engineering tooling and standards.
  • Promote data engineering best practices across the company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in software engineering with a focus in data.
  • Expert in SQL and one or more programming languages (ideally Python, Java or Scala).
  • Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Airflow).
  • Experience with data modeling and ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with batching and streaming data infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, etc).
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • If local to the Arlington, VA area this will be a hybrid work model.
