Event Operations Manager - Remote

Overview

TED is seeking an experienced and strategic Event Operations Manager, Logistics to lead core aspects of conference logistics and infrastructure across TED’s global events portfolio, ensuring every moving part comes together to create world-class event experiences.

• Lead end-to-end logistics planning for TED’s global events.
• Drive execution of complex, multi-vendor logistics programs.
• Serve as the primary onsite lead during flagship events.
• Manage detailed event budgets in collaboration with finance team.
• Oversee recruitment and performance management of logistics crew.
• Facilitate coordination across TED teams and partners.
• Manage vendor sourcing and contracting processes.
• Direct security operations for TED events.
• Regularly review and update risk assessments and safety protocols.
• Willing and able to travel regularly for onsite event planning.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in event operations or logistics.
• 3+ years people management experience.
• Proven expertise in vendor procurement and contract negotiation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing budgets and scheduling tools.
• Comfortable with backstage infrastructure and technical requirements.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and project management platforms.
