Tax & Compliance Analyst - Remote

Overview

STR is seeking a Tax & Compliance Analyst to play a key role in ensuring tax, government compliance, and insurance functions run smoothly while contributing to process improvements that drive efficiency. This role is highly cross-functional, partnering with Finance, Contracts, Program Managers, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and smooth audit processes. The Tax & Compliance Analyst will work closely with and report to the Tax & Compliance Lead.

In Short

• Perform monthly federal and state tax analyses and reconcile tax accounts
• Calculate quarterly income tax estimates for financial reporting purposes
• Prepare and file property and local tax returns, business registrations and surveys
• Support external tax advisors in preparing and filing federal and state income tax returns
• Monitor federal, state, and local tax law changes, and attend relevant tax training
• Support government compliance with federal government contracting requirements
• Review and document revenue recognition methods to ensure compliance with ASC 606
• Monitor business insurance program including assessment of insurance requirements
• Support internal policy updates and process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 2 – 3 years of experience in tax, compliance, audit, or finance
• Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) skills
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, DCAA audits, or ASC 606 is a plus
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance, if required
