Overview

The Energy Policy Coordinator - Resilience serves as a key member of the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) and will provide project coordination, support, and analysis on a wide variety of energy topics that come before the office. The GEO is the designated state energy office and serves as the primary advisor to the Governor on energy issues. The GEO seeks to advance energy solutions that are clean, affordable, and reliable for the benefit of all Maine people.

In Short

  • Coordinate and administer state and federal funds related to grid modernization and resilience.
  • Develop and implement programming to advance energy resilience.
  • Support engagement in Public Utilities Commission proceedings.
  • Manage special projects and energy policy studies.
  • Coordinate contracting and vendor engagement processes.
  • Represent GEO before various organizations and interests.
  • Advise on communications and policy strategy.
  • Lead efforts to seek additional funding as needed.
  • Collaborate with GEO and state agency staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in energy policy and program development.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Experience with grant or program management.
  • Familiarity with grid modernization and smart grid initiatives.
  • Strong communications and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in Augusta, Maine, with a primarily remote start.
