Bitcoin Exploration Team Lead - Remote

Overview

StarkWare is seeking an experienced Bitcoiner to lead our Bitcoin Exploration Team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on exploring and building use cases at the intersection of Bitcoin, its symbiotic ecosystems (Lightning Network, Cashu, Nostr), and STARKs. If you are passionate about Bitcoin's potential and want to leverage zero-knowledge proofs for scaling and novel applications, this is for you. All work is open source.

In Short

• Lead and mentor a team of approximately 5 developers focused on Bitcoin x STARKs exploration.
• Architect, design, and contribute to open-source projects exploring use cases for STARK proofs on Bitcoin and related ecosystems.
• Scope projects, define technical requirements, and manage the development lifecycle.
• Research and identify new opportunities and applications for ZK technology within the Bitcoin space.
• Collaborate with the Head of Ecosystem and Exploration on strategy and project prioritization.
• Represent StarkWare at Bitcoin conferences, presenting research and project findings.
• Optionally dedicate 10-20% of your time to pure Bitcoin open-source public good projects.

Requirements

• Deep technical understanding of Bitcoin at the protocol level. We’re open to various tech stacks (Rust - advantage).
• Proven experience in software development and system design.
• Proven management and leadership skills, with experience handling a technical team.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Cairo and STARK proof systems.
• A cypherpunk ethos and commitment to open-source development.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
