Overview

The Senior USV Operations Engineer will lead the testing, evaluation, and operational deployment of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) in a pivotal role that combines expert seamanship with an engineering mindset.

In Short

• Lead testing and evaluation of USV hardware and software.
• Act as Mission Commander for complex uncrewed missions.
• Provide technical feedback and reports on system performance.
• Oversee Launch and Recovery Systems operations.
• Ensure compliance with UK maritime regulations.
• Mentor and train Junior Operators.

• Liaise with port authorities and clients during trials.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Marine Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in maritime or offshore technology environment.
• RYA Powerboat Level 2 & RYA VHF (SRC) certification.
• Experience with USVs, ROVs, or similar systems.
• Experience in Test & Evaluation or QA environments.
• Knowledge of COLREGs and marine navigation.
• High computer literacy; experience with Linux and maritime ROS is a plus.
• Ability to perform fault finding and repairs on systems.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
• Must hold or be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
• Must hold a UK Passport and Full UK Driving Licence.
