Engineering Manager - Platform Engineering - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Engineering team supporting the Platform Mission at Spotify. This role is pivotal in ensuring the data infrastructure and pipelines that power our information and shape our strategy and objectives are robust, scalable, and efficient.

• Provide servant leadership for the team that reports to you
• Delivery of product improvements, features, migrations, and overall technical health
• Cultivate a balanced and collaborative data engineering culture and a diverse and inclusive team
• Collaborate with technical and product partners to define success metrics and roadmaps
• Influence and support the development of the technical architecture of the team’s stack
• Advocate for the increased knowledge of Data Engineering tools and capabilities across the company

Requirements

• An experienced manager with full stack experience
• You excel at influencing without authority and being an effective communicator
• Passionate about growing and developing data engineering teams
• Empathetic towards customer pains and comfortable translating them into technical requirements
• Confident managing stakeholders across multiple levels
• Fundamental Computer Science background with specific Data Engineering experience
• Ideally proficient in cloud architecture, Java, React, Python, Scala, Apache ecosystem, and Google Cloud Platform technologies
