Safety Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Safety Engineer will support NATO's Communication and Information Agency by ensuring systems meet safety requirements and conducting safety assessments for various projects.

In Short

• Perform independent safety audits and counter-sign safety assessments.
• Validate safety objectives and compliance with safety standards.
• Review software safety assessments and provide recommendations.
• Conduct audits against IEC 61508 and MIL-STD 882 standards.
• Maintain high competence in System Safety Engineering.
• Contribute to quality assurance and safety management systems.
• Work with a team to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Engage in continuous improvement of safety management processes.
• Some travel to NATO sites may be required.
• Must hold valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related discipline with 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience.
• Practical experience in safety analyses for system/software safety.
• Knowledge of safety engineering theory and NATO policies.
• Experience with occupational hazards and risk management principles.
• Professional certifications in Functional Safety and Health & Safety.
• Fluency in English and knowledge of French is desirable.
