Senior Application Cloud Developer - Remote

Overview

SFI is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in software development to join our team supporting the Federal Agency in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The candidate will be a key member of a team that works on software design, development, debugging, testing and implementation of software applications to manage the Census Bureau’s address database and associated applications in the AWS cloud environment.

In Short

• Lead the development of software solutions in the AWS cloud.
• Analyze data modeling and design through the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Perform data analysis on complex data structures.
• Create implementation plans to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
• Perform quality assurance and control on developed software.
• Support Application and Database related problems and deployments.
• Design and develop cloud application software including front end and backend services.
• Research and coordinate the conversion of new products based on client requirements.
• Communicate effectively with senior management and customers.
• Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 10 years’ experience in software development projects.
• 3+ years’ experience with AWS cloud services and containerization technologies.
• 3+ years’ experience with relational databases, SQL, and/or PostgreSQL.
• 3+ years’ experience building backend services and/or Web APIs.
• 3+ years' experience in Python programming.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple software development projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with teams to develop innovative cloud-centric applications.
• Willingness to learn new development tools and programming languages.
