Software Development Manager - Remote

Overview

SOSi is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to join our Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) team. SOSi's Office of the Chief Technology Officer is an internal R&D function building net-new technology products, not delivering against contracts. We're a small, senior team operating with a high degree of autonomy inside a structured guardrails framework. Decisions get made quickly with a model of act and inform over ask and wait.

In Short

• Lead the largest pod in the engineering organization focused on application development.
• Set the technical standard for backend services, APIs, and application logic.
• Drive XP engineering practices like pair programming and TDD.
• Collaborate with UX and Infrastructure pod leads.
• Manage and develop a team of senior engineers.
• Own technical architecture and implementation decisions.
• Work with private AI infrastructure and compute resources.
• Engage in next-generation system design and solve complex technical problems.
• Maintain delivery health and code quality.
• Write and review code regularly.

Requirements

• U.S. citizen, eligible for clearance.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of senior engineers.
• Strong backend skills in multiple programming languages.
• Cloud-native experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP and secure development practices.
• Experience with XP engineering practices.
• Experience with AI Code assist tooling.
