Legal Counsel - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join SmartyAds. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and providing comprehensive legal support across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to minimize legal risks and support the smooth operation and growth of the business. In Short

• Draft, review, and revise commercial contracts, internal policies, procedures, and other legal documents.
• Support day-to-day legal activities and operations of the company.
• Collaborate closely with software developers, analysts, marketing managers, finance teams, and management to drive projects forward while minimizing legal risks.
• Work with different regulations in the field of digital advertising, ensuring compliance when working with publishers and advertisers.
• Monitor and analyze applicable provisions of GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, CPRA, TTPA and other relevant regulations.
• Stay informed about upcoming legal, regulatory, and industry changes in adtech.
• Handle customer claims and address legal concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Support the setup and review of payment instruments and collaborate with the finance team on legal matters.
• Manage assigned legal processes and tasks from start to finish.
• Negotiate agreements and commercial terms effectively.

Requirements

• Holds a degree in law.
• Has 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including 2–3 years in the IT industry.
• Strong experience in international business and commercial legal matters.
• Solid understanding of digital advertising, adtech, and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience drafting internal and external policies and procedures.
• Strong negotiator with excellent communication skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Adapts well to changing environments.
• Meticulous eye for detail and strong research skills.
