Application Engineer - FinTech - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a versatile generalist who thrives on a high degree of personal responsibility. You want to be involved in the whole process, all the way from requirements through implementation and deployment, and you enjoy working across the entire application instead of being stuck in a silo.

In Short

• Work in a hybrid environment out of our Boston office.
• In-office 2 days/week for the first 6 months.
• Travel to Boston for 1 week every 6 weeks for the first six months.
• Collaborate with product management and users to gather requirements.
• Work on UI, API, and back end of financial portfolio management systems.
• Strong analytical skills and good technical intuition required.
• Effective communication skills to explain issues and solutions.
• Ability to dive into unfamiliar codebases and build knowledge quickly.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks.
• Solid SQL skills for managing complex financial data.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building production web applications.
• Computer Science degree.
• Understanding of multiprocessing and multithreading considerations.
• Competence in a Linux environment and familiarity with command-line utilities.
