In Short

• Reporting to the Head of Trading in the Wholesale Group.
• Responsible for the creation, management and execution of power and gas trading strategies in the ERCOT region.
• Support Smartest’s overall business plan and profitability.
• Ensure internal and external customers receive price competitiveness and outstanding customer service.
• Oversee the diligent hedging and risk management of Smartest’s exposure to market price risks.
• Access to the Wholesale Analytics function to support trading strategies.
• Achievement of annual Trading P&L targets.
• Development and implementation of proprietary trading strategies.
• Maintain key relationships with market participants.
• Hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 2 days in the office.

Requirements

• 3-5 years in U.S. energy or commodity markets as a Trader or similar role.
• Thorough knowledge of ERCOT power market fundamentals.
• Fluent in Technical Analysis.
• Deep understanding of commodity market participants.
• Highly numerate and quick thinking.
• Good judgement in high pressure situations.
• Robust integrity of conduct.
• Ability to influence and collaborate.
• Ability to see the ‘big picture’ in deals.
