Overview

The Patient Account Associate II provides exceptional customer service while managing account handling processes, ensuring accurate resolution of complex issues related to payment postings and billing.

In Short

  • Identify and validate payment details and adjustments.
  • Research payment documentation and payer contracts.
  • Initiate payer recoupments and refunds.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Train new and existing associates on processes.
  • Utilize various payer claim portals.
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare billing regulations.
  • Recognize overpayments and escalate issues accordingly.
  • Assist leadership in mentoring peers.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in hospital or physician back-end revenue cycle required.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare billing regulations required.
  • Two years of experience in insurance-related activities preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work sitting or standing for long periods.
