Senior Engineer, Software Systems - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Engineer on our Software Systems team at Shield AI, you’ll play a central role in delivering integrated solutions built around our core autonomy platform—Hivemind. This position offers remote flexibility but requires the individual to live in or near Dayton, Ohio due to occasional on-site needs.

In Short

• Define end-to-end system requirements from solution level to specific implementations of software.
• Support the design & development process for the software system architecture.
• Use MBSE tools to document, maintain & extend existing architecture.
• Develop and maintain models using UML, SysML, and/or UPDM.
• Lead cross-functional teams on projects.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams.
• Report status, risks, accomplishments to senior leadership.
• Engage in the implementation of systems engineering processes.
• Work at the intersection of software, systems architecture, and autonomy.
• Help define how autonomous technologies are designed and deployed.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• B.S. degree in a STEM discipline.
• Experience with Systems Engineering practices.
• Experience with MBSE and related efforts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organized and methodical.
• Software engineering experience in C++ and/or Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance.
• Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated record of being a trustworthy teammate.
