Overview

The Patient Care Technician provides essential patient care and support for daily living activities while ensuring patient safety and reporting to nursing staff.

In Short

  • Provide patient care and support independent and dependent daily living activities.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient conditions.
  • Perform phlebotomy and point of care testing.
  • Assist with mobility and ambulation of patients.
  • Conduct EKG testing and specimen collection.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety practices.
  • Complete required training within specified time frames.
  • Work under the direction of registered nurses.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a relevant certification program or equivalent experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Ability to observe and report changes in patient conditions.
  • Training in de-escalation and physical intervention for Safety Partners.
  • Current enrollment in a clinical program is acceptable.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety and health regulations.
