Staff Product Engineer (Ruby on Rails) - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a senior Ruby on Rails engineer to become the technical backbone of our product. You'll own the hardest PRs, raise the bar for the entire codebase, and eventually take technical load off the CEO. This is not a management role. It's a hands-on, high-trust position for someone who can ship production code across every part of the product.

• Own the product across the entire codebase.

• Review and mentor other engineers through code review.
• Build enterprise features and manage billing and payments.
• Debug and optimize performance.
• Maintain security standards and stay current with Rails and AI.
• Expected to ship multiple times a day with CI/CD.
• Comfortable with performance debugging and building clean UI.

Requirements

• Many years of Ruby on Rails experience.
• Proven track record of building and shipping production Rails apps.
• Experience with Stripe billing and subscriptions.
• Good design sense with TailwindCSS.
• Security-minded with understanding of vulnerabilities.
• Self-directed and fluent in English.
• BSc or higher in CS or equivalent technical field.
• Experience with Terraform and AWS is a plus.
• Open-source contributions in the Rails ecosystem are a bonus.
• Comfortable with performance debugging.
