Manager, Accounting - Remote

Overview

The Accounting Manager is uniquely positioned to make a lasting impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment by overseeing our general ledger accounting operations and close processes for our US business.

In Short

• Manage various close responsibilities including cash, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Oversee the preparation of financial reporting packages for senior executives.
• Support the development of accounting policies in conformity with GAAP.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and coach staff on best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure reasonable accruals and estimates.
• Drive efficiencies in systems through RPA deployment.
• Ensure effective internal controls and review control design.
• Spot errors in financial records and escalate as necessary.
• Promote a coaching culture within the team.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience working with auditors.
• US CPA required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel.
