Lead DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Lead DevOps Engineer is a key leadership position within our Platform Engineering Team. This role involves developing and enhancing CICD Pipelines, tools, conducting advanced system performance analyses/architecture discussion, and defining DevOps Standards. Your extensive experience in software development, platform, and systems engineering will guide strategic initiatives, complex project management, and innovative solution development.

• Lead a team of DevOps engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters to support our microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with development teams to automate and streamline our CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for cloud environments.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud IAM.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps, Github Actions.
• Experience managing and mentoring a small team of DevOps engineers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
