Overview

RR Donnelley is looking to add a Legal Proofreader to their team, responsible for proofreading complex legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.

In Short

• Proofread complex legal documents for consistency, spelling, syntax, and grammar.
• Compare documents against originals for accurate conversion.
• Review cross-references and defined terms for accuracy.
• Check handwritten revisions against working drafts.
• Conduct checks for format and data accuracy.
• Ensure document content is accurate and logically organized.
• Use proofreading marks to note corrections.
• Follow established policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's in English/Journalism preferred.
• Knowledge of style guides like The Chicago Manual of Style.
• Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work through complex legal document markups.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize requests and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with legal terminology preferred.
