Financial Counselor - Remote

Overview

The Financial Counselor is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting the implementation of housing and financial services programs, including one-on-one financial counseling and workshops.

• Full-time position reporting to the Director of Financial Services.
• Compensation: $32.32 per hour with benefits.
• Responsibilities include program planning, client counseling, and grant reporting.
• Conduct individual assessments and develop financial action plans.
• Provide information on financial literacy issues and assist with budgeting.
• Support scheduling and logistics for client appointments.
• Maintain HUD certification and assist with reporting requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and outreach efforts to recruit participants.
• Supervise and train interns and volunteers.
• Build partnerships with agencies and represent the organization at events.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience in financial services or related field.
• Commitment to working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ communities.
• Bilingual skills in Mandarin, Spanish, Cantonese, Tagalog, or Korean preferred.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in MS Office and research capabilities.
• Experience in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
