Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

Retool is on a mission to bring good software to everyone by building a new type of development platform that combines traditional software development with a drag-and-drop UI editor and AI, making it faster to build internal tools.

In Short

• Design and build infrastructure and tooling for Retool’s data culture.
• Develop and scale ingestion infrastructure and optimize ETLs.
• Ensure robust instrumentation across product areas.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop requirements for core tables.
• Implement monitoring to guarantee data quality.
• Articulate best practices for data pipeline development.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
• Experience with cloud-based data lakes and warehouses (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake).
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
