Development Manager II - Remote

Overview

The Development Manager II is responsible for day-to-day aspects of project development, from site prospecting through the commencement of construction. This role focuses on screening, identifying, securing, and developing profitable site opportunities to meet development goals.

In Short

• Oversees site identification with wind resource and transmission teams.
• Works with energy resource engineers to identify optimum project sites.
• Drafts land-rights documents with legal counsel.
• Manages land acquisition consultants and contractors.
• Identifies business opportunities and forms relationships with utilities.
• Permits and installs measurement equipment with landowners.
• Assesses viability of opportunities with finance team.
• Manages the land-rights acquisition process.
• Participates in environmental and permitting work.
• Represents the company in community settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of project management experience.
• 3+ years in commercial project development or land acquisition.
• Ability to travel domestically 16-30%.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Advanced experience in project development or real estate.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of environmental studies and permits.
• Advanced skills in MS Office.
• Intermediate knowledge of electricity market structures.
• Collaboration and attention to detail.
