• Find and report on local stories in Galway.
• Engage with local communities through impactful storytelling.
• Write and develop stories with great pictures and engaging video.
• Research and publish content in accordance with the Editor’s Code of practice.
• Utilize social media to identify breaking news.
• Deliver a wide range of engaging human interest stories.
• Work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Be flexible and inquisitive about what makes a great story.
• Have first-rate editing, writing, and subbing skills.
• Be social media savvy with current SEO knowledge.

Requirements

• Relevant journalism degree and media law knowledge.
• Strong track record in journalism.
• Experience with newsroom analytics and content management systems.
• Ability to deliver content that works for a digital audience.
• Experience as a live blogger is a plus.
• Confidence in using a range of digital formats.
• Ability to engage with diverse communities.
• Strong research skills.
• Ability to adapt to flexible working arrangements.
