Overview

As a Cassandra Database Consultant at Pythian, you will focus on project work, debugging performance issues, and implementing new solutions while engaging with the Cassandra community.

In Short

• Focus on project work, debugging performance degradations, audits, and health checks.
• Design and help implement new Cassandra deployments.
• Evaluate existing clusters and provide recommendations on best practices.
• Debug high priority issues on mission-critical production environments.
• Engage with the Cassandra community through user lists, irc, blog posts, webinars, and open source projects.
• Contribute to rapid brainstorming, designing, and developing of prototypes.
• Automate and provide documentation on operational procedures.
• Train and mentor junior team members.
• Provide performance and forecast reports on critical business processes.
• Participate in company and team meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 3 years of experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Shell and Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with web applications and distributed systems.
• Understanding of continuous integration and automation practices.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Highly effective multitasking and organizational skills.
