Database Reliability Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Database Reliability Engineer at PrizePicks, you will work within the Infrastructure Operations team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data platform.

In Short

• Design and implement the next generation of data infrastructure using PostgreSQL-compatible cloud databases.
• Collaborate with peers to roll out changes to the production environment.
• Make monitoring and alerting focus on symptoms and SLOs.
• Provide database expertise to engineering teams.
• Automate database infrastructure and provide self-service tools.
• Work closely with security to implement controls and best practices.
• Analyze platform performance for improvements.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Extensive experience in database management and infrastructure design with PostgreSQL.
• Expert knowledge in delivering cloud database technologies at scale.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL internals and best practices.
• Commitment to automating processes.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Extensive datacenter experience is a plus.
• Proven track record of building scalable infrastructure.
• Passion for technology and collaboration.
• Extensive Linux experience.
• Expertise in Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and networking.
