Communications and Engagement Officer - Remote

Overview

The Communication and Engagement Officer will play a key role in shaping how PREreview shows up in the world. This position is responsible for managing external communications and deepening engagement with our community—ensuring our mission, values, and programs are shared clearly, consistently, and with purpose.

In Short

• Collaborate with the Head of Community to design and implement a thoughtful, inclusive communication strategy.
• Manage and grow PREreview’s presence across social media platforms.
• Foster a welcoming online community by engaging with members.
• Partner with the Product Team to communicate new features and gather feedback.
• Support planning and facilitation of workshops and events.
• Monitor engagement metrics to assess impact.
• Work collaboratively across the organization.
• Engage daily with the team and community channels.

Requirements

• Proven ability to tell compelling stories for diverse audiences.
• Strong understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility principles.
• Familiarity with open scholarship practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing social media and online communities.
• Passion for community building and collaboration.
• Awareness of structural barriers in research access.
• Experience with content strategy and creation.
• Comfort with public speaking and facilitating trainings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
