Principal Gameplay Animator - Remote

Overview

The Principal Gameplay Animator will join the Firesprite studio to develop high-quality playable animations for a narrative-driven adventure game, focusing on character performance and player immersion.

In Short

• Craft believable human/non-human keyframe and motion capture animation.
• Oversee animation systems and design features to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Revise and refine digital content creation and in-engine tools.
• Collaborate with teams on animation workflows and pipeline development.
• Contribute to artistic and technical gameplay animation goals.
• Work on block-out to final animations and systems.

Requirements

• Experience as a Principal Animator on at least one PC or console title.
• Strong understanding of Motion Matching and State Machines development.
• Proven knowledge of animation principles, dynamic poses, and mocap methods.
• Deep understanding of human behavior and character expression through movement.
• Experience with game engines and movement systems, particularly Unreal Engine.
• Excellent knowledge of Maya/Motion Builder.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
