Payroll Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for various aspects of the payroll function for hourly employees, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor.

In Short

• Maintain payroll information by adhering to established controls & processes.
• Work with proprietary time and attendance software feeding into UKG payroll software.
• Oversee wage garnishment process performed by offshore team.
• Process monthly bonus checks for recognized employees.
• Bi-weekly transmission/reconciliation of 401(k) files.
• Monitor payroll voicemail and address issues.
• Direct production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers.
• Prepare reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, and leave.
• Maintain employee confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Assist with department-wide special projects as needed.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in payroll for a large number of hourly employees.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish fluency).
• Experience with large payroll software solutions like UKG, ADP, or Paychex.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Team player, highly organized.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
