Overview

The Diagnostic Coder position is a part-time role primarily focused on medical coding, requiring the candidate to be Maine-based for occasional in-person collaboration in Lincoln.

In Short

Part-time position, 24 hours per week.
Primarily remote with 1-2 in-person days per month in Lincoln, ME.
Involves reviewing and processing medical records.
Assigning appropriate medical codes (ICD and CPT).
Ensuring record completeness and addressing deficiencies.
Providing customer service support to department visitors.
Completing statistical reports as needed.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Engaging in emergency/disaster preparedness planning.
Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Training in ICD and CPT coding.
CCS credentials through AHIMA or AAPC preferred.
Experience in medical coding.
Basic computer and typing skills.
