Research Engineer II - Remote

Overview

The Research Engineer II will support the Naval Medical Research Unit – San Antonio in conducting advanced biomedical engineering functions aimed at improving the operational readiness and safety of DoD personnel.

In Short

• Resolve novel systems and engineering problems
• Coordinate design phases with contractor personnel
• Direct system integration and testing
• Set up and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Conduct complex laboratory experiments
• Compile and analyze scientific data
• Assist in writing and editing publication materials
• Maintain data securely in laboratory notebooks
• Develop models of fluid flow in air and liquid systems
• Support the laboratory’s biomedical research efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree
• Ability to resolve engineering problems
• Proficiency in coordinating design phases
• Strong laboratory equipment skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to develop fluid flow models
• Strong writing and editing skills
