Overview

Parkland County has an opportunity for a temporary, full-time Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting position in the Finance Department working from April 2025 to approximately September 2026. The Senior Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting including year-end and audit, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and payroll, and providing leadership to direct reporting staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • 5 years of experience in municipal/public accounting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Public Sector Accounting standards.
  • Strong technical skills for financial information analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 or similar systems.
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required.
