Overview

The Revenue Cycle Supervisor supports the revenue cycle department by monitoring day-to-day operations and ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant billing and follow-up processes.

In Short

  • Monitor daily revenue cycle activities, ensuring claims are processed and followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Identify trends and assist in resolving issues that impact payments, denials, or workflow efficiency.
  • Support and guide staff in resolving account discrepancies and complex billing situations.
  • Work collaboratively with payors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve claim issues.
  • Track and report key performance metrics and assist in preparing team productivity reports.
  • Participate in the implementation of process improvements and the adoption of new tools or systems.
  • Train team members on department protocols, payer requirements, and system changes.
  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure billing and collections accuracy.
  • Stay informed about payer policy changes and communicate relevant updates to staff.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to team members to support growth and development.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and collections processes.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify workflow or reimbursement trends.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methods is a plus.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role.
