Backend Engineer II - Search - Remote

Overview

This is a remote role to start, with plans to transition to hybrid in-office 2x/week located in downtown Toronto. As a Backend Engineer II at OpenTable, you will work with a global team to enhance the restaurant search experience, leveraging your technical skills and collaborating with various partners.

• Work with large amounts of data to improve restaurant search efficiency.
• Enhance existing applications through technical expertise and creativity.

Requirements

• 3+ years of programming experience, especially in Java.
• Experience in building scalable services and APIs.
• Good coding practices and experience with document databases.
• Ability to drive projects from planning to production.
• Value testing for reliable operations.
• Familiarity with AI technologies like Copilot and ChatGPT.
